- Assess UpTerra technology performance in peanut crops
Trial Setup
- A split-field design was used to compare the agronomic performance of UpTerra®-treated peanuts and untreated peanuts.
- The treated field received irrigation water treated with UpTerra technology. The control field used standard irrigation water. All other production practices remained consistent between control and treated fields. During the trial, it was observed that the treated field was using water more efficiently, resulting in less irrigation water being applied.
- Control and treated areas were harvested separately, and the buying point data captured average yield and quality metrics.
Trial Results
The following results were observed in the UpTerra-treated field compared to the control field:
- Nearly $40/acre increased income due to improved crop quality
- Improved crop quality
- 16.5% more sound mature kernels (SMK)
- 77% less overall kernel damage
- 955,950 fewer gallons of irrigation water applied (4.7% less irrigation)
Quality Results
Based on peanut grading data, the UpTerra-treated crop showed 77% less overall kernel damage compared to the control.
